'The Caterham Corps' Railtour - featuring 73212, 73213 & 'Hastings' DEMU 1001, 10/10/09

A video of 'The Caterham Corps' Railtour, which was a First GBRf Charity Special that ran on Saturday 10th October 2009. All monies made on the day was going to the 'Help for Heroes' Charity. The Railtour was formed of First GBRf's 73212 and 73213 top and tailing, double heading and even being dragged along by class 201 'Hastings' DEMU No. 1001, which was in a 5-car formation. The tour started at Hastings, which 73213 leading and travelled via Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge, Orpington, Lewisham and Brixton to reach London Victoria. After departing from Victoria, 73212 took us to the first normally EMU-only branch to visit of the day - the Bromley North branch - which we reached via Brixton, Lewisham and Grove Park. After a short break at Bromley North, 73213 hauled the Special to London Bridge, running via Grove Park, Lee Spur (non-passenger line), Crayford Spur and Greenwich. A reversal at London Bridge saw 73212 haul us down to Hayes, via Lewisham and Elmers End. 73213 then took us back to London Bridge, running via Elmers End. After an extremely short stop, we were then hauled by 73212 down to Caterham. The Yellow 'Electro-Diesel' hauled the Railtour though New Cross Gate, East Croydon and Purley to reach the Surrey Branch Line terminus. We then left Caterham, hauled by 73213 as far as Purley, where, after a reversal, 73212 hauled us down to Tattenham Corner, where we had out biggest break of the day (approx 28 minutes). After leaving the Corner, 73213 hauled the 'Thumper ...
